Please also note the following important changes arising from upgrading to .NET 4.6.1:

  • Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 SP1 will not be supported.

  • The minimum requirement is now Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Unfortunately the above changes are out of our control, so please note them when deciding to upgrade Actix software.

As part of the continuous improvement, Actix Analyzer June Release Update 16 (5.5.342.008) is going to use .NET Framework 4.6.1.

Please note that on some machines, the installer for .Net 4.6.1 may reboot the machine without prompting the user.

We therefore strongly advise saving and storing work from the opened applications before proceeding with Actix installation or upgrade.

We are profoundly sorry for any inconvenience caused.

We are implementing the new feature to enable Line to cell visualization for multi-carrier scenarios within Analyzer classic and Spotlight.

We wish to extend the same functionality to the case of dual carrier HSDPA (DC-HSDPA) and we need your help in providing us with a suitable logfile & cellref. 

The obtained data will be strictly for internal use only and will not be shared with 3rd parties.

As it was announced almost two years ago on myActix and a year after the official Microsoft’s support withdrawal of Windows XP, please note that Actix is not going to support Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 from May Release 15 onward.

Actix has been resisting the change for a year, but due to the lack of Windows XP support in the software development tools, third part components and in the latest Windows updates, it has now become imminent.

What would be immediate effects on users currently on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003?

Spotlight and most Analyzer modules and features (like the map module, Protocol Stack Browser and Analysis Manager) will no longer work in May Release 15, making the software practically unusable.

To prevent accidental installation Actix installers will not run on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 machines from Actix Analyzer June Release 15.
